This new take on wedding festivity is all thanks to John Elledge, the groom, and professional cannabis grower by trade. He, along with his wife, Whitney Alexander, decided to take their love of weed and share it with their guests, organising for a very professional and free weed bar to be set up at their private wedding reception. The bar had 13 different expertly grown strains, everything required to use it, and even a knowledgeable bud attendant to advise and prepare guests on the best bud to suit their taste.

The great thing about it all was that it was completely legal, as it took place on private property in the state of Oregon, USA. To boot, it went down a treat with the guests, with many none users trying it out and thoroughly enjoying themselves. "Even an 81-year-old woman who hadn't smoked weed since the '60s came into the tent at our wedding. Though sceptical at first, she ended up loving it," said Elledge.

Even the event organiser, Bridal Bliss, thought it was a great idea, and said while they originally thought it an odd request, they would definitely do it again. The weed bar was not centre stage, and did not force those who were not comfortable with the idea to light up - with a more traditional alcohol bar also at the reception.

It was discreet, welcome, and unique. And of course, safe transport was arranged and provided for those who decided to partake in a bit of the green! All in all, it sounds like a great idea to us, and is the perfect way to share a passion with guests!
